Questions, answered

The things studios ask us most — about load, safety, ordering and support. Can't find yours? Talk to our engineers.

General

A self-climbing hoist carries its own drive on the load and travels up and down its own suspension wire. There's no fixed motor room or overhead machinery — which keeps the grid clean and the movement silent.

Yes. Kanasa engineers the complete overhead system: self-climbing and stage hoists, studio lighting, motor control and electrical, plus rails and rigging accessories — supplied and supported as one integrated system.

Technical

The KH-SC self-climbing range covers 250, 500 and 750 kg safe working load. For heavier or fixed-point duties we offer chain and batten hoists up to 1000 kg. We can also engineer custom capacities on request.

The KH-SC hoists run below 42 dB(A) at one metre — quiet enough to reposition during a live take without picking up on studio mics.

Yes. The KMC control desk stores and recalls full grid positions per show, with ±1 mm repeatable positioning via encoder feedback. It speaks DMX and Art-Net for integration with lighting consoles.

Safety & certification

Yes. Every hoist uses dual independent fail-safe brakes and is certified to BGV-C1 / D8+ for loads suspended over people. The range is CE marked and TÜV tested.

CE declarations, TÜV / BGV-C1 certificates and ISO 9001 documents are available on our Downloads page, alongside datasheets and manuals.

Ordering & delivery

Standard hoists typically ship in 8–10 weeks. Full studio systems depend on scope — we give you a firm schedule with the proposal after a site survey.

Yes. We've delivered studios across nine countries. Installation and commissioning can be arranged on site or coordinated with your local rigging partner.

Support

Yes. We offer scheduled inspection and servicing that keeps your certification valid and downtime at zero, with priority response times that respect a broadcast schedule.

Because we manufacture in-house, we support spare parts for the life of the studio. Genuine Kanasa parts are dispatched quickly to keep you running.
